More Bill: Bill Mott, Washington Post article

The Bill Mott Band is a 4-5 piece band that has been playing the Baltimore-Washington area for the past ten years. Within that time, the group gained national and international recognition with the release of its critically-acclaimed debut CD Dancing With Angels. The CD has been played on stations in over 50 countries and 80 stations in the US. Rock Net-Denmark says "Fantastic Album—really blew me away! Yes to airplay!"

The band has been known to grace such Maryland venues as the 8x10 Club in Baltimore, the Capital City Brewery in Bethesda, Champion Billiard Café, Sonoma's Bar & Grille in Columbia, Oliver's Saloon in Laurel, Michael's Pub in Columbia, Randy's California Inn in Laurel, and The Golden Flame in Silver Spring.

The band plays 80% covers, including Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, Bob Marley and Green Day.

Reviews

"The CD 'Dancing with Angels' sounds like a tight bar band having a great night, with rockers such as 'Girl's Night Out' and 'Cocaine Katie' pulsing like British pub rocks of a few years back. The tunes have stood the test of being played on a car stereo while driving around on a Saturday night," says The Washington Post. Read the rest of the article for the inspiration behind the name of the CD and of Bill's record label, Brand New Hearts.

The Montgomery County Gazette describes the band's sound: "Bill's music might be best described as a work that would come from sessions with Bob Seger, accompanied by his Silver Bullet Band, Alan Jackson, and Jimmy Buffett."

"This is the stuff that Rolling Stone Magazine would eat up and brand with five stars," raves FatFinger.

"...Dancing With Angels is, overall, a very strong album," proclaims Maryland Musician.
